Google Lens, company’s image recognizing tool is now moving to the camera app as well after staying in Google Photos and then in the Assistant for some time. With its new living place, the tool is gaining a few new features too. The new version will be built inside the camera app and will roll out over the next few weeks.
There will be a real-time finder that will analyze what your camera sees even before you press click.
Google Lens inside the camera apps will be available to smartphones from ten Android brands: LGE, Motorola, Xiaomi, Sony Mobile, HMD/Nokia, Transsion, TCL, OnePlus, BQ, Asus, and the Google Pixel.
The world's two biggest phone makers, Apple and Samsung, weren't on the list of partners.
Google announced that Google Lens is going to be built into ten different Android devices’ native cameras, including Google Pixel 2 and LG 7 ThinQ devices. The recently launched includes a dedicated key for Google Assistant, so this makes sense that AI will more deep roots here.
Google Lens can now also recognizes words now. It lets you grab the text and copy and paste into your phone, so. that you could find other objects and clothing that match a style in front of you. This functionality is similar to Google Translate Image.
Also, the crossover between Google Lens and Maps will add AR to street view and help you navigate in real-time.
