Xiaomi launches I8 Quartz watch with minimalistic design

Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone maker has always set out with a task to expand its market and line of products. The company had extended its product to the Spanish market and produced a variety of products, ranging from fitness bands to smartphones, and even to household appliances like air purifiers. Xiaomi at the top of its game, holding the top spot in the Indian smartphone market has decided to take things a little further. Xiaomi has launched a watch, and no it’s not a smartphone.

The company has launched a traditional style Quartz watch which in fact boasts of none of the features of a smartwatch. The I8 quartz watch brings back a simple and traditional look and has a minimalistic yet classy design. The watch has a sleek body of 6.2-mm with a circular base. The straps have been forged from high-tech Vintage Milanese steel and are available in different colours. The circular dials are available in white or black, giving you an option to wear what suits you best!

The sapphire glass on the dial is not only scratch-resistant but also scratch-proof. If you aren’t impressed already, you will be by the fact that the watch is waterproof up to a depth of 50 m. The Xiaomi I8 quartz watch has a 2.28 mm Citizen Citroen quartz movement. While it doesn’t have rechargeable batteries, the batteries boast of a lifespan of up to 5 years. The watch has been launched in China in two variants (41 mm and 36 mm) at a price of 399 Yuan (approximately $63). There’s currently no information on whether or not it will hit other markets.
