Xiaomi has always been launching feature-rich yet affordable smartphones and in the emerging countries like India, Xiaomi has left a special impression. Xiaomi has grabbed every price segment today when it comes to smartphones. The company tweaks the configurations and launches them at reasonable costs so that every kind of customer could get a fairly good experience at that price. While the company successfully pleases every kind of users, it isn’t doing a great job when it comes to the camera.
Well, the Chinese does have Mi Mix 2S smartphone in its portfolio that has achieved DxOMark results and received the highest mobile camera rating. But, the company doesn’t have many such examples, in fact, Mi Mix 2S is one of its own kinds and no other device from Xiaomi manages to woo customers when it comes to the camera. But, if an allegedly leaked letter is to be believed then things might change for the company soon. Xiaomi may soon cater to the needs of the photography enthusiasts soon.
Reportedly, an internal email from Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has surfaced online and if we look at its content, it seems like the company is now very much serious about the mobile camera and eager to work on it.
Jun addresses that taking photos has become the key factor for many users and the demand for a camera-centric phone is on the rise.
The email is written in Chinese, but we have translated it and according to it, the company is planning to set up a separate camera department in the mobile phone division and is aiming to"ensure the quality of the Xiaomi mobile phones is at the top level in the world."
The letter also writes that "Zhu Dan has been appointed as the general manager of the newly formed camera department of the mobile phone department."
Well, we believe that a new camera division will soon be established by the company so as to accelerate the already nourished mobile business. So, we may see some camera-centric phones from the company soon. Stay tuned.
