When Nokia 8 was launched in 2017, it was the first major launch after the post-Microsoft led Nokia era. One of the key highlights for Nokia during that time was its camera and the pro-camera controls that helps enthusiasts capture some amazing photos.
Even though Nokia 8 came with Carl-Zeiss lens, users were disappointed with the camera performance. Another major issue was the missing pro-camera mode. Nokia, through software updates, has tried to rectify many of them and promised a solution to the missing manual mode as well.
Nokia’s Product manager, Juho Sarvikas, explained the reason for the delay on Twitter some time back. He mentioned.
We need to overhaul the entire imaging framework. We have been working on it for months. Taking longer than I anticipated but now looks good. We will update shortly.
The company has now confirmed that the pro-camera mode with manual controls is now available for Nokia 8 and is rolled out globally in a phased manner, much to the delight of its fans.
He has now shared a video on Twitter showing the Pro Camera Mode. This mode brings the old Lumia like interface to Nokia 8 camera application and brings in important features like HDR, PiP, along with dual camera capture.
