Apple is always looking to make changes and improvements to its existing and upcoming devices. Sources claim that a big new change may be coming to Apple’s smartwatches. So, what groundbreaking change is this? Well, the physical button may be replaced by a solid-state one which will even provide haptic feedback. To get a rough idea of what this will be like, picture the home button found on the iPhone 7.
The rumour appears to have surfaced out of intelligence close to Apple and claims that while the company will retain the same configuration of buttons but will rely on Apple Taptic Engine which works in response to the touch of the user. Well, Apple isn’t new to this sort of replacement as it has done it before with its Force Touch Trackpad on its 2015 MacBook Pro and even with its iPhone 7. While this may involve some getting used to, it makes it more convenient for the end user. This may actually be something really good for Apple’s smartwatches. Removing the physical button reduces the chances of it breaking.
Removing the physical button will also allow for more space. Could this lead the company to use a larger battery on its smartwatches? What do you think? Share your views with us in the comments section below!
