The Oppo Find X is a piece of art and in a way can be pictured as a futuristic smartphone in terms of the uniqueness of its design. The so-called true bezel-less smartphone surprised the smartphone world with its pop-up action front-facing camera. In the pursuit of a truly bezel-less design, smartphone manufacturers either have the option of having a notched display which isn’t very popular or can implement their own unique design changes, which is precisely what Oppo did with its Find X smartphone. However, a pop-up camera can be quite a risk.
There’s a chance you’ll drop it with the camera jutting out and will probably end up with a broken front-facing camera. The front-facing camera automatically pops up when opening the camera app and switching to the front-facing camera. Considering that there’s a high chance of it breaking fast, the company has taken a precaution or two to ensure that you won’t be breaking the pop-up camera anytime soon. Apparently, the company has ensured a sort of fall protection for its Oppo Find X. So, how does this work?
If the phone falls from your hand with the front-facing camera exposed, the periscope detects the fall and retracts. The use of plastic buffers in the middle frame of the periscope acts as a further safety measure. According to Oppo, the pop-up front camera has a 5-year lifespan. This is quite good considering most consumers are likely to change their smartphones every two years.
