The Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro was expected to launch on the 25th of June or so that’s what we thought. The company slipped in an early release as the device was spotted live on the official website a day before its scheduled launch date. Its design and specifications aren’t really a surprise since they appeared in leaked renders and even official images of the blue colour variant of the device.
The first thing that one will notice about the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 6 is the notched display and a rather large bottom bezel. The bottom bezel looks almost large enough to house capacitive buttons as well as a fingerprint scanner. However, considering the fact that the smartphone runs on MIUI 10 which makes use of gesture navigation, having capacitive buttons are no longer a necessity. The back of the device consists of a dual-camera setup with a fingerprint sensor. So, how good are the internals of the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro?
The device features a 5.84-inch Full HD+ display and is powered by the Snapdragon 625 SoC. Coupled with this is either 3GB or 4GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB internal storage. The dual-rear camera setup consists of 12MP+5MP sensors while the front-facing camera is a 5MP shooter with AI portrait mode, Face unlock, AI beauty and HDR support. The device supports storage expansion of up to 256GB via microSD card, has a triple card slot and a 4,000mAh battery.
The Redmi 6 Pro will be available in five colour variants, Red, Cherry Blossom Powder, Gold, Stone Black, and Blue. The device is priced at CNY 999 (approximately $155) for the 3GB/32GB variant, CNY 1199 (approximately $185) for the 4GB/32GB variant and CNY 1299 (approximately $200) for the 4GB/64GB model. The Xiaomi Redmi Pro 6 will hit the shelves on the 26th of June at 10 am.
