During the MWC 2018 event, it was expected that Huawei could release the third-generation of its smartwatch but the company didn’t announce it. And, according to a report, Huawei CEO Richard Yu confirmed that a new watch is indeed in works but the company isn’t in hurry to launch it anytime soon. Well, now it seems like we are getting a chance to see what’s actually brewing inside or what the company is actually implementing via its Watch 3.
Huawei has been publishing a number of patents relating to wearable and the most recent one describes what the upcoming smartwatch could be capable of.
The patent was published by WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) and spotted by LetsGoDigital. Although the patent reveals a couple of different designs, there’s one design that catches the attention. One of the design shows Huawei Watch 3 might also include Bluetooth-enabled earbuds. Well, this sounds obnoxious but the design in the patent seems to be reflecting this concept. Hold on! The design looks more unpleasant.
The design shows a little container attached to the bottom of the strap that houses the earbuds. This extra container that might house the earbuds looks unwanted or an extra thing which is just jutting out the bottom of the strap. However, having a pair of earbuds attached to the Watch 3 will allow the users to listen to the music on the go or while they are exercising without the need of the smartphone. So, with the help of this smartwatch one can leave the house without the phone.
But, it’s fair to think that such kind of design doesn’t look cool enough. Having that extra thing on the strap may look unwanted and this may end up increasing the size of the watch. But, this looks, at least, one of the only ways of adding the earbuds if Huawei plans to go with it. This new style looks different to Huawei’s Talkband B1 and TalkBand B2 that pop out of their straps to become Bluetooth earpiece for taking calls.
Well, this seems to be just the start and we are waiting to get more details on the alleged Watch 3 from Huawei.
