Nokia launches new and revamped camera app

21 August 2018 2

Did you like the camera on Nokia Android-based smartphones? If you didn’t, you’re in luck as the company is now bringing out an entirely new camera interface. So, what exactly will it be like? While we do not have exact details regarding its features, we can assume that it will be based on a more modern design. The current camera has often been criticized for its obsolete and dated design.

As of now, we know that the update will first arrive to the popular Nokia 6.1 Plus smartphone and then to other Nokia smartphones. The company is also looking forward to rolling out the latest version of Android, Android Pie, to its smartphones. Supposedly, the new camera UI resembles the outlook and design as that of the camera app on the iPhone. The new camera app features a big shutter button at the center with different modes to select from by swiping vertically.

The new camera app is rumoured to have two signature Google features, Google Lens and the fun Motion Stills feature which allows one to create interesting but short animations. Once the camera software is updated, the experience will in all likelihood be a fulfilling one!

Nokia did make a comeback in the smartphone industry, but I assume, it did take time for it to bring out a better camera unit here. But good to see they are improving.
