Microsoft removes the Office 365 device limits for subscribers

31 August 2018 0

Microsoft is soon going to drop the device limit for Office 365 letting you use it on more devices under the same plan. Until now Office 365 Personal was limited to 1 PC or Mac along with one tablet and Office 365 Home allowed 10 devices to login in all.

Currently, if you pay $70 for the Personal account you are allowed to install Office 365 on up to five devices and for $100 you can install Office 365 on up to 10 devices with up to five different accounts.

However starting 2nd October, Microsoft will remove this restriction and you can install Office 365 on as many devices as you want, however, you concurrently login on five different devices. Microsoft is not limiting the type of device and no matter if you use Mac, PC or a tablet If you try to login to the sixth device you’d get an error message to log out of one of the previous ones.

Microsoft is also increasing the number of accounts that can be linked to your Office 365 account from five to six in all. Each of the members will get full access to office apps and 1 TB of cloud storage.

Microsoft will also integrate the Home subscription into family service letting your subscription to be automatically shared with people you’ve set up as family members. It is also setting up a new Microsoft Account Portal to manage all the subscriptions.
