Apple has announced a free logic board replacement for the iPhone units with manufacturing units. According to the Cupertino-based company, it has determined a “very small percentage” of iPhone 8 devices that may experience unexpected restarts, a frozen screen. For them, Apple has launched the logic board replacement program that will replace the logic boards of iPhone 8 for free.
It is to be noted that the devices sold between September 2017 and March 2018 in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Macau, New Zealand, and the U.S may be affected. That mentioned months were the first six months the device was on sale
Apple guides on the matter that if your iPhone 8 has an eligible serial number, Apple will repair free of charge. Apple has maintained a serial number checker on its support page so that it could help you in knowing about your device over this issue.
It’s mandatory to note that iPhone 8 Plus models aren’t affected so this free program isn’t meant for these devices.

After checking the qualification, one can choose the mentioned service options to get iPhone 8 repaired. "Your iPhone will be examined prior to any service to verify that it is eligible for this program. In all cases, your iPhone will be sent to an Apple Repair Center for service.”
There are three service options available to choose, first is to find an Apple Authorized Service Provider, second is make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, or contact Apple Support to arrange mail-in service via the Apple Repair Center.
