Honor 8X with 6.5" display gets TENAA certification

03 September 2018 2

Huawei ‘s sub-brand Honor has been very active of late. The company has launched its gaming phone Honor Play at IFA 2018 along with showing off its Kirin 980 powered Honor Magic 2 smartphone. On the other hand, the company is also getting ready for the launch of Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max later this week.

While the 8X Max is said to come with a huge 7.12-inches display, the Honor 8X has just made a mandatory appearance on TENAA certification site giving us a glimpse of its hardware specifications.

The phone that is listed on TENAA site under the model number JSN-AL00 appears to be Honor 8X and it comes with 6.5-inches FHD+ display with a 2340 x 1080 resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio with a waterdrop notch, 4GB or 6GB RAM options, 64 GB and 128 GB internal storage options.

The listing suggests that the Honor 8X will have a vertically aligned dual rear camera setup with the primary sensor being 20-megapixel along with a 2-megapixel secondary camera. There is a 16-megapixel front-facing camera as well.

The phone runs on EMUI 8.1 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo and is powered by a 3,650 mAH battery. The listing states that the phone will come in Black, Red, Blue, and Purple color options.

The only ambiguity in the listing is with the processor powering the Honor 8X. As per the listing, the phone will be powered by a 2.2 GHz processor which mean that this could be either a Snapdragon 660 processor or Huawei’s own Kirin 710 processor.

Overall the phone looks quite similar to the Honor 8X Max. Unlike the 8X Max, the 8X does not have a huge battery pack however, it may perform slightly better in terms of camera performance compared to the 8X Max.

The Honor 8X isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
