YouTube dark mode is currently available on Windows on the PC platform and has even been available on iOS ever since the beginning of this year. After a long wait, YouTube dark mode is now available for Android users as well. However, do bear in mind that this is only a server-side change. Well, if you want YouTube Dark mode on your smartphone, you’re going to have to do a bit of work to get it running.
It’s pretty simple, first ensure that your YouTube app has been updated to the latest version available on the Google Play Store. You can now navigate to settings and then installed applications and locate the YouTube app. From here all you have to do is clear cache. Now start up the app again and navigate to “Settings” and then to “General”. This is where you should be able to see the option for “Dark Theme”. If this doesn’t work for you, then while clearing cache, also clear the data. If you still haven’t received this feature, don’t worry as this feature will definitely roll-out to almost every single user in the next few days, so if you’re ready to wait for it, you won’t have to do anything at all!
YouTube dark mode is much easier on the eyes and is definitely more pleasant to view than the white colour in the background of the YouTube app. Let us know how much you like the new YouTube dark theme feature on Android.
