BMW's very own digital AI-based voice assistant to launch March 2019

AI-powered voice assistants are maturing at a fast pace and the time isn’t far away when they would be playing a vital part in our daily lives. We already have a bunch of smart home devices that would soon take over our everyday life and now these smart assistants are gradually reaching our cars. Popular automobiles maker is already working to make their cars more inclined towards automation and BMW is one of them.

In the latest happening in this regard, BMW is considering to launch its very own digital voice assistant in the upcoming spring where all the models would feature BMW operating system 7.0 that would include its AI-based personal assistant, helping and aiding the BMW drivers to control the car options. The assistant would be triggered by the command ‘Hey BMW’.


Utilizing the AI technology, the voice assistant would learn the voice patterns and habits of the driver, improving upon the overall experience as it gets used more with time. The assistant would get used to the user preferences and tastes like seat heating adjustments optimal for a driver or frequent routes the car gets traveled upon. Users would be able to name the AI assistant to get a more personalized feeling and customize the keywords and trigger sentences like ‘BMW, I’m cold’ cold automatically increase the car cabin temperatures suitable to the driver’s need.
