Apple may release entry-level MacBook without Touch Bar

11 September 2018 3

The most awaited tech event of the year is just 24-hours away and Apple is expected to update almost all the products at this event. From iPhones including a “budget iPhone”, a new Apple Watch, New Airpods, and an updated AirPower charging station, in short, a lot is expected. Apart from this there have been a few rumors of Apple finally updating MacBook Air while some leaks suggested that Apple may launch a cheaper entry-level MacBook.

However, closer to the launch ever we have got a tip which suggests that Apple may be launching a MacBook Air styled entry-level laptop that may feature a touch-id but will not feature a touch bar like the ones present on the costlier MacBooks.

One of the most reliable Apple tipsters, Ming-Chi Kuo states that “The new low-price MacBook may replace the position of the current 12" MacBook. We expect this new model to support the Touch ID but it will not have the Touch Bar”. He is known to have deep contacts in Apple's supply chain.

Though it not very clear if this would come with a discontinuation of the current 12” MacBook or there will be a new powerful yet budget device in the sub $1000.

It has been rumored that the new MacBook may look quite similar to the good ol’ MacBook Air though with thinner bezels around the 13-inches display. There may be a boost in the display as well and it may now be a higher resolution “retina” display used in other Apple products.

It would be a very interesting launch event this year with Apple expected to offer updates for each and every product including software. While Apple also may be looking to fill the gaps.
