Huami Amazfit Verge smartwatch with NFC, all-day heart rate monitoring launched

Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Huami has once again launched a new smartwatch in China. The name of the new smartwatch is Amazfit Verge and it includes a plethora of new features such as all-day heart rate monitoring, abnormal heart rate notification, NFC with payment support and GPS as well.

According to Huami, the all-new Amazfit Verge is made out of reinforced plastics and has a removable silicone strap. It features a 1.3-inch circular display with AMOLED panel with 360x360pixel resolution covered with Gorilla Glass 3 on the top.

The Amazfit Verge is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz processor coupled with 512MB RAM and 4GB storage. Along with some usual sensors, the watch also includes geomagnetic and air pressure sensors on board.

According to the company, the Amazfit Verge has an all-day heart rate monitoring feature with a high precision optical sensor with 98% accuracy and up to 80% reduced power consumption. With the help of NFC, the Amazfit will allow you to make transactions in 165 cities which covers over 20,000 public transport routes as well. One will also be able to make payments as the watch also supports the AliPay and even UnionPay which is coming in November.

The Amazfit Verge comes with 13 built-in watch faces. Out of these, three have been made in collaboration with San Francisco based Territory Studio. It also features Xiao AI assistant and comes with support for MIJIA smart home app.

The watch can last up to 5 days on a single charge under the normal usage. The price of the Amazfit Verge is CNY 799 ($116) and it is already available on sale via JingDong and Tmall in Sky Gray color.
