Samsung is reportedly working on its next rugged smartphone of the Xcover series which could be known as Xcover 5. Now, a browser benchmark listing is revealing that this device could be the company’s first smartphone with 19:9 display.
As discovered in the HTML5test database and first spotted by a Dutch tech blog Mobiel Kopen, the tested device is listed with the model number SM-G405F. The listing reveals the resolute as well which is 3040x1440 pixels resolution. If the spotted information is true, this could be Samsung’s first smartphone with the tallest aspect ratio. The listed phone is running the Android 9 Pie and while the QHD+ resolution doesn’t seem to be for a rugged phone, the model number suggests it may be a part of the Xcover rugged family.
The “F” in the SM-G405F moniker alludes that the tested device is powered by a Samsung-made Exynos chip.
According to a prematurely listing of the handset by Samsung New Zealand in April, the device could include triple-LED flash. No other specifics are known yet but we may hear more about the same in coming days.
With the 19:9 aspect ratio and Android 9 Pie, the Xcover 5 seems to be receiving some most significant remake ever. Or, it may be possible that Samsung is making a completely new Android device line.
