It’s only been exactly two days since Apple released its stable version of iOS 12 and it seems like it has received a pretty average reception. According to data gathered by Mixpanel, an analytics company, iOS 12 has already been adopted and installed on over 10% of devices. Apple’s iOS 11 achieved the same numbers in just 24 hours as compared to the rate of adoption which iOS 12 has received in 48 hours. Records even show iOS 10 being installed on 14.45% devices in just a day. Going by this, it’s quite apparent that most users are reluctant to update their devices.
Perhaps the bugs which iOS 11 brought with it left a bad taste in the mouth of users, making them reluctant to update their devices. MacRumours even started a poll on Twitter to see just how many people have taken the leap of fate to iOS 12.

However, iOS 12 brings with it significant changes which reportedly improve the speed and performance of older Apple devices. Apart from making older devices faster, the animations have also been made smoother and much more responsive. Apps too tend to load faster and the OS itself appears to be snappier. Ever since the release of the stable version of iOS 12, the users on iOS 11 have dipped all the way to 82%.
The iOS 12 update is available for iPhone 5s and iPhone released after it. Apart from this, it’s also available for the iPad mini 2 and later, as well as for the 6th generation iPad touch.
