Amazon has announced the 4K version of its popular Fire Stick, called as Fire Stick 4K along with a new Alexa Voice remote. The Fire TV Stick 4K supports 4K Ultra HD, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ titles and Dolby Atmos surround sound.
The new Fire TV Stick 4K is slightly bigger than its predecessor and has a new MediaTek MT8695 processor. The new processor is designed keeping media streaming dongles in the mind and supports smart features such a voice commands.
This new dongle from Amazon fully supports MPEG2, MPEG4, and VP8 for web videos with an up to 1080p at 30 fps resolution and is industry’s first such dongle that provides support to the full combination of HDR10, HLG, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos.
In terms of connectivity, the Fire TV Stick 4K comes with an HDMI 2.0b port to connect to the TV and a micro USB port for charging. It also supports 2×2 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0.
The new 4K dongle comes with an updated Alexa Voice remote control which has power, volume, and mute buttons and is compatible with a few other Audio and video devices apart from the Fire TV Stick 4K. This remote can be used to search for content using your voice as well as a variety of other smart devices.
The price of Alexa Fire TV Stick 4K is set to $49.99 in the US and the Alexa Voice remote control comes bundled. The remote is separately sold for $29. 99.
The 4K TV stick bundle is priced at Rs. 5999 and a separate remote is available at Rs. 1999 in India.
The device will be available starting November 14 in Germany, India, and the U.K. Later this year the product will also be available in Japan.
