Mozilla’s Firefox Focus browser for iOS and Android has received an update that brings new features, some visual changes, and performance enhancements as well. The visual changes made to the app on each platform now lines up closely with the design cues from Android Pie and iOS 12.
Some of the highlights of the visual changes include the updated icons, a simpler settings menu, and a new URL bar. Also, the core functionalities of Firefox Focus are now going to be presented on the start screen to give an overview of the whole range of possibilities your privacy browser has to offer. The Search suggestions setting has been turned “off” by default.
In addition to home screen tips, iOS users now receive Siri shortcuts. “You’ll now be able to set and open a favorite website, erase and open Firefox Focus, as well as erase in the background via shortcuts.”
Mozilla also announces that now the Android version of Firefox Focus is based around Mozilla’s new GeckoView browser engine. According to the company, this would pave the way for Mozilla to bring important new privacy-centric enhancements in the future.
Mozilla explains,
Switching to GeckoView will give Focus the benefits of Gecko’s Quantum improvements and enables Mozilla to implement unique privacy-enhancing features in the future, such as reducing the potential of the third-party collection. For now, you won’t notice much, but you’ll be helping us create the next generation of Firefox browsers just by using Focus, and we’ll return the favor by giving our Focus users unique features that other browsers on Android simply won’t be able to offer.

The "Take a screenshot" feature works excellent in the web app for Mozilla Firefox. How about the same in this app?
Our handsets mostly have this screenshot taking feature. Do we need to have them separately still?
I like the one in Xiaomi. It's a scrollable screenshot and moreover, you can
choose the ratio too, like 3:4, 4:3, 16:9, 9:16, etc.
