31 October 2018 3

OnePlus 6T, the latest flagship from the company includes several new features which aren’t present on its predecessor. But as promised, a software update is bringing some of these treats to the OnePlus 6 as well. These include the Nightscape mode and the new gesture feature. Via the OxygenOS Open Beta 6, the OnePlus 6 is getting these features and also the November Security patch.

Nightscape and the Studio Lighting features were the highlights of the launch among others. The former improves the quality of pictures while you do low-light photography and the latter adds up professional lighting techniques for selfies similar to Apple’s Portrait Lighting feature.

Another major highlight of this software update is the Navigation gesture which is the new quick switch gesture. Apart from these features, the OxygenOS Open Beta 6 for the OnePlus 6 also brings improved UI for About phone, improvements for taking screenshot experience. There’s also Gallery smoother and improved zooming gesture and magnification features.

Not to forget, this is a beta software and can include potential risks. So, if you have never been the part of the beta channel you should know about the possible bugs that you may encounter them. OnePlus has given the flashing instructions which you can follow if you’re not running the open beta software. Once you migrate to the Beta path, you will continue to receive Open Beta OTAs and moving back to the Official OTA path from the Beta path will require a full install and clean flash.
