LG may introduce its first foldable smartphone at CES 2019

31 October 2018 4

Next year will bring several new techs in the industry and we are eager to witness them as well. We have been hearing about 5G and foldable phones for so long now and it seems like 2019 is the year when both of these advanced techs will be launched. There are several smartphone companies in the race that are expected to bring the foldable phones next year and LG is one name among them. Well, the race is more about to become the first to come up with such a smartphone. These participants seem to be vying with one another to eventually reach the position for being the first.

We don’t have much information about such foldable phones but a new scoop does carry something exciting and want you to believe that we are on the verge of the new future of smartphones tech.

According to @evleaks, LG is planning to unveil a foldable phone at its 2019 CES keynote. Evan hasn’t made any further comment on the same, but we do believe that it is going to be a prototype that may not become commercial during the same timeframe.

It might be possible that the leaks on the LG’s foldable phone have now started and we will see more coming shortly.

Talking about the other competitors who are vying for the position of being the first in launching the foldable smartphone, we have Samsung and Huawei. However, a report came earlier this month suggests that LG is aiming to bring the most interesting foldable phone instead of being the first.

Talking about Samsung, the company has somewhat confirmed that such smartphone is coming before the end of 2018, however, the company at the earnings confirmed that it will launch 5G and foldable phones in 2019. On the other hand, Huawei is reportedly planning to release the foldable smartphone ahead of Samsung.

While the competitors seem to be working on this project aggressively, it’s necessary to know whether the end users are ready for the same. Current smartphones do have a potential to gain new design, including the completely bezel-less phones without a notch and while many have gotten success in this new design, several others have yet to come up with such phones.

We can only say, let’s wait and watch where this will go further from here.
