Google Pixel and Nexus devices receiving November Android Security patch

Google Pixel and Nexus devices have started receiving this month’s Android Security patch that brings a few improvements and critical bug fixes. The latest software update also fixes the picture-in-picture performance, notification stability, and a specific set of Pixel-related software fixes as well. The security patch fixes include a few critical and high vulnerability charging issue on Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL while using the third-party charger, with new November security patch update.

The OTA files and the factory images for the November security patch have been released as well. The list of compatible devices for the November Android security update includes Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X, and Nexus 6P.

The November security patch also introduced the Google Assistant shortcut to Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. This shortcut allows the users to activate the Assistant quickly. According to 9to5Google, the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL users can now squeeze Active Edge to invoke Assistant, apart from the traditional method of long pressing the Home Button.

Google has also fixed the slow wireless charging issue on the Pixel and Pixel 3 XL while using a third-party charger, with the new November security patch update.

Check your device’s System Updates option for the November Android Security update. Factory images can also be installed to flash the devices. Alternatively, the OTA Zip files are also available to download that may help you install the update on your device via the unlocked bootloader.
