Twitter CEO aims to work on a 'edit tweet' feature

12 November 2018 3

Jack Dorsey who is the co-founder and CEO of Twitter shared his views over one of the major concerns of the people using Twitter which is the ability to edit tweets. There are millions of ways you would found on Google to do so, though none of them actually works. Twitter has previously released various quite popular features taking the platform further.

In an event that took place in India, the executive shared his concerns over the complexity of the edit feature which he shared in a statement,

“You have to pay attention to what are the use cases for the edit button. A lot of people want the edit button because they want to quickly fix a mistake they made. Like a misspelling or tweeting the wrong URL. That’s a lot more achievable than allowing people to edit any tweet all the way back in time,”

He said that the company would not offer unlimited edits as that could be used to alter the chain of conversations demeaning the overall value of the platform though they surely want to work upon a solution to what “people see as friction in the service.”

He further said,

“We have been considering this for a while and we have to do in the right way. We can’t just rush it out. We can’t make something which is distracting or takes anything away from the public record,”
