The Raspberry Pi foundation makes cheap computers which was very much accessible to everyone. The foundation has today announced a cheaper version of its most powerful computing device, the Raspberry Pi Model A+. It is a stripped down version of the Model B+ and is now available at $25, $10 cheaper than the model B+.
The Raspberry Pi 3 Model A+ comes with the same quad-core 1.4 GHz Broadcom processor present in the B+ variant. Other similarities include the same Bluetooth 4.2 along with 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi for connectivity.
Though the stripped down variant comes with one USB 2.0 port instead of 4 on the B+ variant, 512MB of RAM and does not have an Ethernet port. The B+ model though comes with 1GB of RAM, 4 USB 2.0 ports, and an Ethernet port hence pegs a premium price compared to the new one.
Unlike the previous generation, since the new one comes with WiFi connectivity built-in, internet connectivity is a piece of cake and Bluetooth Low Energy support makes it easier to create IoT hubs from the model A+.
These tiny computing devices offer computational powers equivalent of an old computer, these are affordable too, the pricier Model B+ costs $35 while the newer variant A+ is priced at $25
