Koren tech giant Samsung recently announced its upcoming foldable smartphone with a temporary name as Galaxy F. Samsung masters in OLED displays and have years of experience in smartphone displays and is also building experience in foldable displays. Likewise, other competitors to Samsung like LG is also making moves to cope up with the considerable lead that Samsung has already enjoying when it comes to the smartphone displays and their quality.
LG has recently filed a patent suggesting that the company might be coming up with foldable smartphones in the future and now there is another patent pointing towards a large flexible display with no borders, with near to no bezels, which is wrapped around the smartphone body. The patent is filed with KIPO (Korean Intellectual Property Office) and was published on 23rd October 2018. The diagram in the patent filing shows a smartphone with flexible display wrapped around it, allowing to turn the display into a tablet form factor, though the housing its self can’t be folded.

Chances are that LG might be showcasing this design at CES 2019 which is quite a unique idea when compared to the product ideas presented by Samsung earlier when it comes to foldable devices.
