Microsoft Surface Book 2 is the latest pricey 2-in-1 device in the market and while it’s full of glorious features, looks, and functions, it couldn’t repel the harms coming to it. Reportedly, owners of the Surface Book 2 users are experiencing the Blue Screen of Death crashes with the error message “System thread exception not handled,” following the installation of a recent cumulative Windows Update designated KB4467682.
Some users have even reported that rolling back the update would cause the Surface Book 2 to become unusable. Some users on Reddit speculate that the issue is due to a confliction between the Windows update and a firmware update for the Surface Book 2 that was released at the same time.
ZDNet cites multiple users from Reddit and Microsoft’s own support forums. Microsoft has reportedly responded to at least one user on its own forum but with no explanation or a promise of a fix. The high-end Surface Book 2 is an important milestone in the history of Microsoft and such issues must be fixed soon so that the users who have spent their hard earned money don’t become upset.
Microsoft recently withdrew its Windows 10 October 2018 update because of multiple major bugs and now this Surface Book 2 issue is just enhancing the previous scenario a bit. However, Microsoft has been actively detecting any kind of potential risks so as to keep them at bay before they even could compromise the data of its users.
It’s yet to be known what made this issue to appear and when the fix for the same will be issued.
