Honor YOYO AI smart speaker launched in China

27 December 2018 2

Honor along with the recent flagship Honor View 20 launch announced a new AI-powered smart speaker called Honor YOYO speaker. The new speaker is available on Vmall, Huawei Mall, JD.com, Tmall official store, Suning and other e-commerce stores starting today at a price of CNY 199 or approximately 29 USD.

This smart speaker marks Honor’s entry into the smart home ecosystem and may have more such products coming out soon. This also brings Honor at par with its direct competitors like Google, Apple, and Amazon internationally and Xiaomi along with Alibaba within China.

Talking about the speaker itself, it comes in a minimalist circular design with a diameter of 10cm, the height of 4.5cm and weighs 165g. Like Amazon’s Echo, Honor YOYO also has a breathing light at the top which responds when responding to a query or producing any sound.

The speaker comes with a built-in 2-inch 3W full-range speaker and works with Huawei’s Histen algorithm to offer the user a professional sound experience. It can be connected to the phone via WiFi and can dial numbers to make calls and is capable of receiving calls. It is capable of doing almost all the tasks that a smart speaker is supposed to do, though the company has not announced any plans of international launch yet.
