Nokia 9 PureView has long been into rumors and leaks and the only alluring aspect of this smartphone that is keeping us close to it is that it consists of 5 cameras on the back. While we don’t have any information on its exact launch, we are proceeding with whatever comes our way and knowing more about the smartphone. Recently, an alleged promotional video of the Nokia 9 surfaced that not only highlighted the smartphone but also its features, and you guessed it right, it was mainly about its camera features.
The promo video highlights camera features like “5 simultaneous shots,” “10X more light capture,” “stunning HDR photography.” Focusing more on the light capturing feature, we assume, the Nokia 9 is going to have some stunning low-light photography.
The phrase actually matches a lot with what the US startup company briefs on its website. The name of this company is Light and it specializes in “computational photography” with camera modules that vary from 2 to 16.
Our camera array collects more light in a single-shot than any other camera in the market. One of our smaller 5 module arrays can collect 10x more light than a traditional smartphone sensor, and these numbers can increase even more depending on the number and type of sensors. The result is more details and improved noise when shooting in the dark.
The software pipeline works on multiple platforms and devices, and can combine and fuse 5, 10, or even 50 images.
Clearly, the description provided by Light goes in line with what was claimed in the recent promo video.
Beyond this, the company offers much more in terms of image quality: including better dynamic range, Lossless Zoom, 3D depth mapping (Refocus), much better resolved details.
Let's have a look at that leaked promo video again.
The Nokia 9 Pureview is expected to launch in January end and till then let’s just wait for more details to come.
