AirPower is one of the rare product from Apple which has taken almost two years to reach the market after its announcement, still, there is no concrete information about its availability. Once considered doomed, the official wireless charging mat from Apple was reported to have entered into the mass production phase.
Now sources close to the production supply chain have stated that orders for parts are regularly flowing in and “expect shipments for the wireless charger to boost further once it becomes available later in 2019.
This does hint that the AirPower may finally be available sometime later this year.

Apple AirPower, a wireless charger in the form of a mat that could charge several Apple devices simultaneously might be finally on its way of release. Yes, after so many speculations and nearly doomed as per a report, the AirPower is finally arriving and it could happen quite soon.
A Hong Kong website ChargerLAB cites a “credible source” within Apple’s supply chain who claims Chinese manufacturer Luxshare Precision has started production of the AirPower. The source claims that he has heard the AirPower will be released soon. The information comes via a chat in Chinese and MacRumors has translated these chat screenshots to let us know about it. Previously, it was reported that AirPower will release by the end of 2018 but it obviously never happened so we eyed on the next year.
Breaking: AirPower is finally coming. We just learned from credible source in supply chain that the manufacture Luxshare Precision has already started producing Apple AirPower wireless charging pad. Luxshare Precision is also the maker of Apple AirPods and USB-C cables. pic.twitter.com/UqgWIAh3sx— ChargerLAB (@chargerlab) January 12, 2019
Luxshare is a member of the Wireless Power Consortium behind the Qi standard and also assembles AirPods for Apple and Lightning to USB-C cables, according to ChargerLAB. So, we are putting some credence on this report.
Interestingly, in a follow-up tweet, ChargerLAB cites another source who claims second Apple supplier Pegatron is set to begin mass productions of the AirPower on January 21. According to the alleged Pegatron employee, the AirPower has three layers of coils in an 8-7-7 configuration from bottom to top.
Many rumors and reports came in referring to the delay of the charging mat by Apple. Back in September, it was reported that Apple is going through some technical challenges with its AirPower and it may not release. But, now the newest rumor just dismisses the earlier report. However, the famous analyst Kuo already predicted the schedule of the AirPower while predicting the same for the iPad 5. According to his prediction, AirPower would launch in the first quarter of 2019 and this is what we have started to hearing as well.
