Space X prototype Mars bound rocket revealed on Twitter

14 January 2019 1

Elon Musk is a man with a unique way of thinking. The CEO of SpaceX wants to attempt to build a colony on Mars capable of supporting human life. How exactly does he intend to do this? Well, for starters he needs a vehicle for safely taking passengers back and forth. Elon Musk took to Twitter to reveal his latest invention called the Starship. This retro-looking rocket is a prototype and will someday carry people to the Moon and Mars.

The rocket will be taken on a flight test in Texas in the next few weeks. Along with the image of the rocket posted on Twitter, Elon Musk captioned it, explaining that the:

Starship test flight rocket just finished assembly at the @SpaceX Texas launch site. This is an actual picture, not a rendering.

The prototype rocket was built in Boca Chica and is nine yards in diameter. An orbital prototype is expected in the upcoming months and will be paired with a rocket booster called Super heavy. If all goes well, this would be the first successful attempt by SpaceX. The company built a rocket before with the same aim and even put it to the test. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out as planned. Perhaps the Starship and Super heavy duo will achieve what looks like a close to impossible feat!
