Files by Google crosses 100 million download milestone on Play Store

18 January 2019 4

Google’s Files Go app was launched in December 2017 for all devices on the Android platform. The app is a lightweight file manager which helps keep the files on your device organized while also managing the storage on your device. Almost a year later, the company dropped the Files Go moniker and rebranded the app to Files by Google. Files by Google has managed to get over 100 million downloads on the Play Store. This is extremely impressive and more so considering it’s a file manager.

Ever since its launch, the app has constantly been updated by Google with new features. In fact, just recently, the app received OTG support. One of the most brilliant features of the app is the cleanup suggestion options to declutter and free up space on your smartphone. Some of the suggestion include clearing space from the app cache, unused apps and even old downloaded files which are no longer used. Apart from this, the app also offers offline file sharing capabilities. However, this will require an enabled Bluetooth connection.

If you haven’t tried Files by Google, it might be time to give it a chance. Let the 100 million downloads milestone speak for itself!
