OnePlus 6 and 6T distorted and low audio bug reported in multiple apps

31 January 2019 2

OnePlus 6T users have recently complained about abnormal battery issues which are becoming a source of concern for many users. Recently, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer released an update to a phone targeted to offer battery optimization, though a bug in that update became a cause of killing apps in the background.

In addition to that, the phone suffered from screen problems and now it seems that the company got another set back with OnePlus 6 and 6T, that got audio quality issues in various apps. One of the first complaints started in this regard around mid of last year and since then it has been raised multiple times on official OnePlus forums and through the medium of popular XDA developer’s forum.

The primary issue shared was when audio notes were shared on WhatsApp that were of quite a low volume. Likewise, a similar issue was shared with Snapchat or Facebook Messenger users. This doesn’t mean that all the apps on OnePlus 6 or 6T performed in the same way. Like Instagram doesn't seem to be affected. Some also believe that this issue is mostly because some apps only use the top installed microphone which is meant for noise cancellation.

This means that the problem is more of a software issue rather than a hardware one so the owners could wait until this gets fixed through a possible software update. Have you experienced this issue before? Let us know in the comment section below.
