WhatsApp for Android gets single sticker download feature

05 February 2019 4

WhatsApp for Android is getting a new feature that will allow the users to download only a single sticker from the pack which means they won’t need to download the entire pack if they wish to have only a single sticker for their use in the chats. For now, this new feature is added to the beta version of the app, so the users on the beta channel can install the latest version which is 2.19.33.

Previously, WhatsApp users had to download the entire pack even if they didn't want other stickers to use. For a mere one sticker, the whole sticker pack had to be downloaded. While the stickers packs aren’t too bulky in size nor do they hog much data, but wasting the data on unnecessary things doesn’t make sense too. So, WhatsApp has now come up with a new feature that will let you download a single sticker only. You just need to open the stickers’ pack in the WhatsApp’s in-app store and long-press on the sticker you wish to download. It will then show you the download size of the single sticker and offer a download option at the bottom for saving the sticker in the app. So, this feature will save the precious data for all the users who have limited data packs.

Currently, the feature is available in the beta so, you can download the latest version from Play Store if you’re a beta tester. Else, you can wait as WhatsApp decides to push it to the stable version of the app.

The source WABetaInfo who spotted this feature also indicated that the WhatsApp Pay feature may be coming to the United States soon.
