Google has some serious hardware under its portfolio which it upgrades year after year. The new year has begun and so are predictions on its upcoming products. Going by the custom, we know Google will bring next-gen Pixel phones, however, some rumors have also suggested a cheaper Pixel phone as well that could launch this year alongside the new iteration.
A report coming from Nikkei Asian Review corroborates some of the facts that we already know. These include a cheaper Pixel phone, new Pixel 4 phones, new Google Home. But the report also throws light on the Pixel watch which is long awaited. Google’s own Pixel-branded smartwatch was expected to arrive last year but Google laid all rumors to rest by confirming this new piece isn't in development. Google didn’t explicitly deny the hardware in making but did say that it’s currently focusing on building software for wearables rather than building the hardware around it.
Well, not too late, but we have again started hearing about Google’s plans on announcing its own smartwatch alongside the new Pixel phones. According to Nikkei’s report, the Pixel-branded smartwatch will compete with the Apple Watch lineup.
Furthermore, an updated version of the Google Home speaker and a security camera are also on the cards. The report says that a person with direct knowledge of the matter has revealed that a new security camera will come later this year.
Most products should launch in October at Google’s special event for hardware. But, Pixel 3 Lite which is said to be even cheaper than the iPhone XR should launch before. But there are no details on the same currently.
