Oppo to mass produce its 10X lossless zoom camera tech in H1 2019

18 February 2019 3

The fast-paced smartphone industry is continuing to push the technology and manufacturers to come up with something new and interesting to keep up with the competition. We have been hearing a lot about Oppo’s 10X Lossless zoom camera technology that it is expected to announce at the upcoming MWC 2019. Oppo has previously introduced 5X optical zoom technology at MWC 2017 and this year could possibly be even more interesting considering how far the optical zoom technology could be pushed.

Apart from little teasers being posted on Weibo hands by Oppo’s top brass, recent news is exciting enough. Oppo’s Vice President Shen Yiren shared on Weibo that it would be mass producing 10X Lossless zoom tech in the first half of 2019, which basically means that this would be a time when smartphone packing this technology would begin to be produced.

Having a 10X optical zoom on your smartphone? How cool would that be! This could be a breakthrough in smartphone photography being able to achieve a focal length of 15.9mm-159mm and could be used via telephoto or super-wide angle sensors.

The company previously also shared that it won’t be unveiling Oppo R19 this year thus suggesting that Oppo is currently working hard to bring the very best technology to its already available smartphone tech just like how it introduced a pop-up smartphone camera module.
