HDM Global has been at the top of its game when it comes to software updates. Most of the smartphones either received the Android Pie software update last year or have received it early this year. Some of them include the Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 6 and Nokia 5. Joining the likes of these devices is the Nokia 2.1. You heard that right, the company is finally bringing Android Pie to its Nokia 2.1 smartphone. The only difference is that this is the GO Edition of the software.
The Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas of HMD Global took to Twitter to share the good news. The video is a nine-second long one. This is long enough to confirm that the Nokia 2.1 will be receiving the Android Pie (Go Edition) Software update. Like most software updates, it will be available soon through an OTA. However, users may have to wait a while till it reaches them as software updates are usually rolled out in batches.
To jog your memory, the Nokia 2.1 smartphone was launched in 2018 and is powered by the Snapdragon 425 SoC and is coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. The device features a 5.5-inch screen with a display resolution of 720x1280 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:9. In the camera department, the smartphone is equipped with an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 5MP front-facing selfie shooter. The smartphone is aimed at the entry-level smartphone market.
