Nokia 9, Nokia 4.2, and Nokia 3.2 include Sensory's TrulySecure face unlock tech

28 February 2019 4

HMD Global announced at the MWC 2019 event that it has integrated TrulySecure facial recognition into three of the new Nokia smartphones. These are the Nokia 9 PureView, Nokia 4.2, and Nokia 3.2. The facial recognition will help the users to unlock their phones via powerful facial recognition.

Sensory which has done a partnership with HMD Global and is behind the TrulySecure facial authentication has made an announcement on the same on its website. Sensory explains the technology quickly and securely recognizes enrolled users via powerful face biometric recognition technologies. Sensory claims the tech can identify users and authenticate them in less than a second and that too at a 99.99% accuracy rate.

Sensory also claims, “TrulySecure makes it nearly impossible for an imposter to gain access to a protected device or app. It runs completely on device, stores biometric profiles as highly encrypted irreversible code, and never sends biometric data over the internet.”

The Nokia 4.2 will arrive in April and the Nokia 3.2 is set to launch a month later than this. Talking about the Nokia 9 PureView, the device has no shipping details as of now. So, we have to wait a bit more to see this technology working in reality on at least one of the phones which is the Nokia 4.2.

The more promising a security tech is, the more it is put to test. The same thing happened with Apple Face ID. Wonder what's happening with TrulySecure technology now.
