Lava is back but not exactly with a bang! The company has launched its Lava Z40 smartphone in India. The device is a barebone smartphone with very basic functionality. You may have alre4ady guessed it by now, the Lava Z40 is an Android Go Edition smartphone. Needless to say, it runs on Android Go; a trimmed down version of Android which can run on lowly powered smartphones.
The device sports a 4.0-inch screen with a display resolution of 400x800 pixels. As expected, it makes use of a TN display panel and has an aspect ratio of 16:9. On the bright side, the Lava Z40 smartphone has Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Powering the device is a quad-core CPU running at 1.4GHz. This is coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. In the camera department, the device is equipped with a 2MP rear-facing camera as well as a 2MP front-facing selfie shooter. The smartphone also comes preloaded with Bokeh mode.
The smartphone supports dual SIM, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It has a Micro-USB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Lava Z40 is juiced by a 2,250mAh battery and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition). The device will be sold in two colour variants, Black and Gold for INR 3,499.
