Apple secures rights to AirPower trademark; May finally launch in late March

24 March 2019 2

Seeing Apple on a product launching spree ahead of “It's show time” event somewhat made us believe that now the long-awaited AirPower will also get launched. On the contrary, it never happened but the hopes of its launch are still high as the March 25 event is yet to come where we expect to see the iPod Touch as well.

Apple AirPower which is a gleaming white charging pad offering wireless charging ability to the iPhones, Watch, and now even the AirPods has undergone several launch delays and while the reason behind these delays is unknown, a report that came in some months back claimed that Apple is going through some production issues. Well, keeping aside what has held Apple back from launching the AirPower for so long, we now have even more reasons to believe that it’s finally coming.

The very first is the access from the company that had also applied for the trademark. The name of the company is Advanced Access Technologies and it has been found that it filed the trademark before Apple. Now, after months of the clash between the two companies, the AirPower trademark has now been transferred to Apple, a new document filed with the USPTO on March 22 tells the same. MacRumors has built a full report on the same which you can read by heading to the source links provided below.

In other related news, DigiTimes has claimed in its new report that the launch of the AirPower is finally happening and it could happen in “late March.” The report cites sources to state that ‘Apple's AirPower wireless charger for iPhones, Apple Watch and AirPods is set to be officially launched in late March.'

Well, what could be the better platform to announce the release of AirPower than the March 25 event itself? But, we have to wait and curb our curiosity for the same.

Normally the delay thing doesn't happen with Apple. But this time, the AirPower has gone through it multiple times. Definitely a one-off such case with such a volume.
