Nintendo Switch controller coming with 3.5mm jack for built-in chat

05 April 2019 3

Nintendo still has plans for its Switch console. The Nintendo Switch is one of the company’s most popular consoles. This is evident from the number of units sold. The company plans on releasing two new Switch models in 2019. A new Nintendo gamepad with built-in chat is on its way. The controller features a 3.5mm jack, making it possible for users to plug in headphones and chat online while playing.

This is a third-party licensed PDP Faceoff Deluxe+ controller. It makes use of social gaming technology which has been developed by Vivox. This will allow users to play Fortnite with in-game game chat without using Nintendo’s mobile application. Game accessory company views this as the stepping stone for integrating this technology in future Switch controllers. The Faceoff Deluxe_ controller looks very similar to the original Switch controller. However, it is a wired controller with a cable length of 3m and a USB-C connection.

The highlight of the controller is the 3.5mm jack which is present at the bottom of the controller. The gamepad even has controls for adjusting the audio. The controller has programmable buttons and the faceplate is interchangeable. As expected, the controller will be up for sale on PDP’s website and will be available in two colour options: red camo and purple camo. The PDP Faceoff Deluxe+ controller is priced at $24.99.
