Google shutting Artist Hub in favor of YouTube Music

Tech giant continues to expand and improve its services on all corners of its territory may that mean the demise of some services in favor of others. Google+ recently got shut down as the search engine giant begin deleting user content and now it the company would be calling it quits on the Google Play Artist Hub likewise so.

In a recent notice on the landing page of Google Play Artist Hub, Google shared that it would be shutting down the service in favor of YouTube Music which would be used as a platform for music creators and artists to flourish. The company shared in a statement saying, “With the launch of YouTube Music last year, we eventually plan to replace Google Play Music with YouTube Music.” And further added that “we encourage you to become a YouTube Artist if you aren’t already,”.

Now the current artists can’t submit more music though they would still get their final reports and payments on 31st May which would later be deleted completely on 31st July. Have you already switched onto YouTube Music? Share your experience in the comment section below.

Getting the hang of YouTube Music these days. But I hope this switch in service won't mean too much of a concern to the artists there already.
