Samsung Galaxy S10 series misses the LED notifications light as the company wished to bring an increased screen estate. But these smartphones still have something that could be used to bring the LED notifications light. These are the camera cutouts that would double as the LED notifications and Samsung has very innovatively applied this idea as well via Good Lock update. The idea is modern as it would bring out a beautiful effect around the front camera cutouts whenever a notification appears. This whole concept can be termed as camera ring notification light on Galaxy S10.
Samsung calls the effect the Eclipse which lights up the display cutout for notifications. This new feature is available inside the EdgeLighting + module.
Currently, the implementation has its limitation as Samsung has restricted the use with the phone locked and that only a bunch of stock apps, Samsung’s own apps, and phone calls. This means the notifications for the apps like WhatsApp would lighten up when the screen is unlocked but not when the phone is locked.
This limitation is expected to remove in a later update. The restriction on some apps might have done to prevent battery draining. But, we do hope this would change in the future under the Good Lock updates.

Talking about which apps would work with this new feature, it's both about having in-house apps as well as for saving the battery life.
Hmm... I agree. Call it as another feature that's Samsung-exclusive at the moment, which can potentially increase app downloads too.
But whatever be the thing, the battery draining is going to increase a bit with this feature.
