Apple iPhone XR, the relatively cheaper model than other iPhones that launched last year, gained much appreciation, and in fact, according to a research carried by a firm, it was the highest-selling smartphone in the US during the Q1 2019. Well, this year as well, Apple is expected to bring a cheaper version of its new iPhone series that will use LCD display once again. But if a new report is to be believed, the iPhone XR (2019) isn’t going to have all things from the past.
Citing information provided by Chinese suppliers, it’s claimed that the iPhone XR 2 will follow the footsteps of iPhone X and iPhone XS by adopting the dual cameras set up. Apparently, these new sensors will be borrowed from the flagship iPhone XI and iPhone XI Max but expect it to come with at lower cost. This means the iPhone XR model may include a telephoto lens, however, the report lays out no other information that could tell about the configuration of the cameras.
But assume it to be 12MP on both and the telephoto lens will offer 2x optical zoom. The other iPhone models in the series are expected to hold a squarish camera module but iPhone XR 2 is unlikely to have it since it will only have two cameras. It’s believed that the smartphone’s rear cameras will instead resemble that of the iPhone XS line. One of the common things that the iPhone XR 2 may include is the single slab of glass that curves upwards around the vertical camera setup, thus removing the need for a separate metal ring.
Like the original, the upcoming iPhone XR is expected to feature a 6.1-inch LCD display, although this time, it might be paired with a larger 3,089mAH battery. Apple is also expected to bring the 18W USB-C fast charger for its iPhones, however, the same isn’t expected for the iPhone XR 2.
