03 May 2019 5

As the tech industry is preparing up for the 5G technology, we’re new 5G enabled smartphones that are underworked or are already announced. One such smartphone is the recently launched device from Oppo i.e. Oppo Reno 5G which was launched on 10th April in China and later got listed in Zurich on 24th April. Likewise, the phone has now made its way into the European market as it got launched in Switzerland, becoming the world’s first 5G smartphone to enter the European market.

This was a huge feat for Oppo where the company’s vice president celebrated this on the Chinese social media platform Weibo. The smartphone offers a 999 Swiss Frans for a price point of $980 as a starting price.

The phone would be released in other parts of the market as well in upcoming months. The phone packs a 6.6-inch display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 while it offers massive 8GB RAM along with a 256GB storage capacity. Likewise, we get the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC on the phone. Coming to the camera department, the device offers a dual rear camera setup with 48MP + 8MP + 13MP setup while a 16MP shooter on the front side. The phone is fueled by a battery capacity of 4,065mAh which is quite decent compared to competitors.

Oppo Reno achieved an applaudable data transfer rate of 1.5Gbps peak download when it was tested out in the external 5G environment in Shenzhen, China, while the download rate got stable at 1.4Gbps which is still stunning and shows the power of what 5G could offer.
