Windows 10 was a tremendous leap in from Windows 8.1. However, apart from the occasional glitches, one major problem was that Microsoft disabled functionality for users to choose when to install updates. This means that with Windows 10, updates were literally being forced down the throats of users even though they were troublesome and opened a can of worms. It seems like Microsoft has had a change of heart and are giving control back to users with the upcoming May 2019 update.
Ever since the release of Windows 10, Microsoft has forcibly made users upgrade from previous OS versions like Windows 7 or Windows 8.1. Apart from this, Microsoft has been extremely experimental when it comes to updates on Windows 10. This has created a ton of trouble for Windows 10 users. While the company has been tirelessly attempting to make improvements, it seems like the most significant ones will be bundled with the 1903 version update of Windows 10.
Users have taken to Reddit, claiming that they are now seeing a new option under Windows update settings called “Download and Install Now”. This means users will be able to postpone the download as well as the installation of new Windows updates. This is definitely the solution which Windows 10 users have been waiting for since its appearance.
