13 May 2019 2

Xiaomi has announced that it will set up automated vending machines to sell its products in India. These new express vending kiosks will let customers buy Xiaomi products like smartphones, power banks, and other accessories without any intervention of middlemen.

Xiaomi plans to install these vending machines at public locations with high footfall like Malls, Metro station, Tech parks, and airports, etc. across different metro cities in India. These vending machines will accept various modes of payments like credit cards, debit cards, cash, and UPI.

Xiaomi is the first ever brand in the Indian tech industry to introduce this innovative retail model, which also offers the efficiency of e-commerce business making it a cost-effective approach and is scalable, claims Xiaomi. The company aims to set up several more kiosks in the coming months, and gradually expand the retail plan across more cities.

There was a time when Xiaomi mostly sold its devices through flash sales. The retail stores followed. And now deploying vending machines is an even step from Xiaomi for selling its products in India.
