One of the most awaited series in the mobile industry is just official now and we have to say the wait was worth and even the hype that felt overwhelming at one point. With the charm, OnePlus also ropes in some fierce competition, which was an obvious fact, though. The companies have stepped into the battlefield already with their marketing campaigns, and the first to name here is Redmi from Xiaomi. OnePlus did some interesting promotions for its OnePlus 7 series, OnePlus 7 Pro in particular. But looks like Xiaomi is ready to thrash them all as it has started to do so.
Tweets from Redmi India and Manu Kumar Jain, Xiaomi Global VP make a direct hit on so many marketing attempts of OnePlus that it made alone for its newly-launched series. We were appreciating OnePlus for its interesting teasers and promotions but one tweet from Xiaomi has certainly hit at the right place that may hurt OnePlus the most. Redmi India has been launching some value for money smartphones and calling its upcoming device a direct flagship killer to OnePlus 7 indicates the company will launch it at a price lower than the OnePlus 7.
The teaser from Redmi India reads, “Congratulations, OnePlus! We hear about your new flagship. Regards Flagship Killer 2.0. Coming soon.” Well, the tweet, of course, doesn’t reveal the name of the device but upon deciphering it, you may find this could be the newly-leaked Redmi K20 (K and 2.0 are both in red color).
Recently, Lu Weibing, General Manager, Redmi, explained the ‘K’ in K20 stands for Killer and the K-series will comprise the brand’s performance drive flagship phones. He confirmed the same via a post on Weibo. The company made this announcement after tipster Ishan Agarwal leaked that the flagship phone will be called Redmi K20. According to a recent leak, the new flagship phone will come in two variants – the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro and one of them is suspected to be launched as Poco F2. The Pro variant is tipped to include a 4,000mAH battery and a possibility of a 48MP camera with a 32MP pop-up selfie camera.
Past week, Weibung also confirmed that the device is going to have better battery life and the screenshot shared in the post reflected that the device also includes an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The flagship phone with Snapdragon 855 processor from Redmi is said to be coming soon. So, we can’t tell when the device will exactly get launched. All you can do is wait and curb your curiosity.
