Pixel smartphones have always been known for their timely updates and high-end specs. However, along with this, these devices have also been notoriously known for other hardware issues. The launch of the Pixel 3a and 3a XL marked a new era for Pixel smartphones. Unfortunately, these Pixel devices continue to plague users. Reports have surfaced of the Pixel 3a and 3a XL randomly shutting down.
The random shutdowns usually occur when the device is not in an active state. Oftentimes, users wake up to a black screen with their smartphones not responding. The only way is to hard reset the phone by holding down for 30-seconds on the power button. Users have even tested if the shutdowns were triggered by third-party apps. Surprisingly, it wasn’t as even when using the smartphone in safe mode. While this issue reminds us of the random shutdowns on the Nexus 6P, the causes behind them seem unrelated.
Sadly, as of now, there’s no fix to this issue. This has led users to even return their Pixel 3a and 3a XL smartphones. Hopefully, this is a software issue and one which the company can easily fix.
