OnePlus 7 Pro OxygenOS 9.5.4 rolling out to fix camera performance

27 May 2019 3

The OnePlus 7 Pro became official earlier this month. The smartphone was a much-anticipated one and the successor to the famous OnePlus 6T. In no time, the OnePlus 7 Pro became the fastest selling ultra-premium smartphone on Amazon. Unfortunately, since launch, the device has suffered from ambient display bugs and camera quality issues. Luckily, the company has rolled out the OxygenOS 9.5.4 update to address these issues.

The update became known last week but was scheduled for release this week. One of the highlights of this update is an improvement in camera quality. At launch, the DxOMark score for the OnePlus 7 Pro was an impressive 111 points. Unfortunately, in real-world scenarios, the camera quality didn’t reflect its DxOMark score. It’s too much expect one single update to rectify everything. However, one can hope for the best. In addition to improvement in camera performance, the update will also include increased stability, fixed Bluetooth latency in games, and even ambient display fixes.

Here’s a list of the changelog:

System

  • Optimized Double Tap to Wake and Ambient Display
  • Fixed an issue that causes an audio delay with the Bluetooth headset when playing games
  • General bug fixes and improvements

Camera

  • Improved image quality in HDR scenarios
  • Improved image quality in low light
  • Fixed white balance issue in several scenarios
  • Fixed focus issue in several scenarios

The update is currently rolling out. As expected, the update will be rolled out in waves depending upon regions. Do bear in mind that in Europe the build number will be labelled as OxygenOS 9.9.5 due to the European ROM having GPDR changes.

Ok. And another thing that's still not satisfied my curiosity. When there are such bugs and performance issues in less than a month of a device being official, how's that the phone's released like that in the first place? Or am I missing something?
